The lab is currently running more than 2,000 tests per day and will process about 28,000 tests before the tournament is over.

Gov. Andy Beshear said it's "too early" to name the facility, and health officials have not yet determined the scope of the variant.

The state's positivity rate, which measures the proportion of COVID-19 tests returning positive, rose slightly from 4% on Saturday to 4.12% on Sunday.
