Mayor Craig Greenberg created the commission as part of the Safe Louisville Violence Reduction Plan following the DOJ's move to throw out the city's consent decree for federal police reform.
Greenberg, a Democrat, was elected in 2022 and took office in January 2023, succeeding former Mayor Greg Fischer.
