With a significant number of students facing food insecurity, staff and local organizations have implemented initiatives to provide food boxes and pantry access to those in need.
Organizations are working to continue regular food drop-offs, despite the neighborhood road conditions.
For those receiving food boxes, the gesture means more than just a meal.
Feeding America's annual Map the Meal Gap study shows more than 126,000 people are food insecure in the area, including more than 55,000 children.
The resource center is open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Monday and Friday for men and on Wednesdays for women.
The meals will be served on a first-come, first-serve basis.
