Tri Township Fire and Rescue said in a Facebook post that neighbors reported a loud explosion or gun fire.

Crews are now searching the area where the basement used to be. 

The explosion had a 100-foot blast radius, Evansville Fire Chief Mike Connelly said.

"I feel like it would do a lot of good for my mother, in terms of lifting her spirits whenever she awakens," said AJ Scanlon.

Those calls, which were recently released, reveal one thing about the fire that was previously unknown.
