The primary obstacle arose when Clark County Commissioners dissolved the Utica Fire Protection Board just one day before the scheduled vote.

The Jeffersonville Common Council met Tuesday evening about creating a new fire territory that would cover the City of Jeffersonville and Utica Township.

The former Clark County sheriff is being held in a southern Indiana jail on a $1.5 million bond on 31 charges related to misconduct, ghost employment and public corruption.

The fire broke out in the Chapel Creek Subdivision near County Line Road around noon today.
