Supporters of the bill argue it would protect youths from having to share restrooms with people of the opposite gender. 

Under the bill, if the Indiana Department of Education determined that a school discriminated, the school would become ineligible for the subsequent year’s scholarship program, according to a story by WXIN.

It prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
