Kaidon Salter passed for 169 yards and three touchdowns, and he carried it 13 times for 113 yards and another score to help Liberty beat Western Kentucky 42-29. Liberty (8-0, 6-0) has won its first four road contest of a season for the first time since 1997. Liberty, which entered ranked No. 2 nationally with 274.6 rushing yards per game, gained 323 yards rushing on 54 carries for an average of 6 yards. Quinton Cooley and Aaron Bedgood each added a rushing touchdown for Liberty. Salter had touchdown passes of 47 yards to CJ Daniels, 9 yards to Victor Venn and 27 to Treon Sibley. Austin Reed threw four touchdown passes for Western Kentucky (4-4, 2-2).

Jarret Doege threw two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter, DK Billingsley ran for 122 yards with a touchdown and Troy defeated Western Kentucky 34-27. Doege came in for injured starter Gunnar Watson late in the third quarter when the game was tied at 20. He finished that drive with a 16-yard touchdown pass to Jabre Barber on the first play of the fourth quarter.  He hit Tez Johnson for a 10-yard score on the next possession putting Troy on top 34-20 with 7:14 to go. Western Kentucky then answered with a scoring drive.  A Troy punt pinned the Hilltoppers on their 11 but they reached the Troy 32 before Richard Jibunor sacked Austin Reed and forced a fumble that was recovered by Tro Showers, sealing the win with a minute left.
