LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One person was taken to the hospital early Friday after fire tore through a home in Louisville's Portland neighborhood.Â
It happened around 5 a.m. in the 3300 block of Alford Avenue, according to a news release from the Louisville Division of Fire. When crews arrived on scene three minutes later, the home was fully engulfed in flames.
Crews fought the flames from inside the home while searching for occupants, and found everyone had made it out before firefighters arrived. One person was taken to the hospital with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening, according to the release.Â
No other injuries were reported.Â
It took 25 firefighters approximately 15 minutes to gain control of the fire.
The American Red Cross is assisting three adults, a child, and three dogs who are now homeless after the fire.Â
The arson squad is working to determine the cause of the fire.Â
