LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Shively Police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened Sunday afternoon in the 4000 block of Dixie Highway.
The coroner has identified the victim as 19-year-old Kenneth Forbes, Jr.
Police say the shooting happened in the parking lot of Beverage World. Officials say Forbes was pronounced dead at the scene after he was shot in the chest.
The crime scene was emotional as family and friends of the victim arrived at Beverage World.
"This is a time when you should be spending time with loved ones instead of burying people and attending funerals," said James Wilson, a Beverage World customer.
Police still don't know why Forbes was killed. They say it's unclear if he was alone, or with anyone in the parking lot.
"In public is certainly something that separates it I guess from what we're use to dealing with. Obviously in the wide open with the public around, certainly is a little unusual," said Sgt. Josh Myer with Shively Police.
Police have not arrested any suspects in connection with the shooting.
