Oxmoor Center to undergo redevelopment

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Oxmoor Center is about to undergo a multi-million dollar redevelopment starting next month.

The mezzanine housing the food court and some retailers will be demolished.  Stride Rite and Subway have already moved to the Sears wing.  Something 2 Do will move there soon, and Modelle's Custom Tailors will go to the Dick's Sporting Goods wing.  Other moves may happen, as well, and several new retailers and eateries are expected to be added.

The redevelopment will renovate center court and add new seating areas and a play area near Sears.

"This renovation will give our guests a modern, open shopping environment, improving site lines and making it easier for shoppers to find the stores they are looking for," said Jacob Sappenfield, Oxmoor Center general manager in a news release.

The renovation is expected to be finished just in time for the holiday shopping season.
