LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Christmas arrived early for several families today in the form a full-course meal.
Members of the Kappa Alpha Psi alumni chapter delivered food baskets to needy families today.
The group works with councilwoman Mary Woolridge and other non-profits to identify needs in the community.
Today, the fraternity visited 15 families to bring them enough food to cook a full-course meal for four people.
The rain didn't stop the group's good deeds, says alumni chapter president Maquel Marshall, "we are here to serve the community and do what's great for other folks in the community, so rain, sleet, snow or hail we'll be out here every holiday season passing out baskets."
The fraternity also brought along members from the youth mentoring program to show them the importance of community service.
Since 1984, the group has delivered more than 35-thousand pounds of food to needy families.
