LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Indiana side of the Big Four Bridge will open with temporary lighting.

The ribbon will be cut in Jeffersonville on April 30 at noon.

The city Redevelopment Commission voted to install temporary lights on the ramp leading into the city. Permanent lighting has delayed the project because it's required for safety. The lights were also redesigned to please those who live in nearby homes.

"Everybody wants to see the ramp open," said Jeffersonville Mayor Mike Moore. "I can tell you I'm right there at the top of the list who wants to see it also."

Crews are still going to work on installing the permanent lighting while the ramp is open.

The park in Jeffersonville at the base of the ramp will not be finished for another few months.
