LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Surprise visitors popped in to help brighten the day for patients at a Louisville children's hospital -- and the way these superheroes saved the day even had a crowd gathered on the streets outside to watch.

It's not everyday you see Batman and Superman, side-by-side, hanging from the side of Kosair Children's Hospital.

Crowds outside took it all in and captured the scene, but the real reason for the superheroes' mission was behind the windows they were cleaning at the hospital. These window washers knew there were kids inside who could use a pick-me-up from a super hero.

Kids like 3-year-old Chase, a patient at Kosair, who was delighted to see them.

The role of "Batman" is a logical fit for a window washer for All-Brite, who appeared in the costume.

"We love coming down here," the man posing as Batman said. "We always wave to the kids, and when they asked us to put on costumes, we were all for it. It takes their minds off of where they're at, and we have fun with the kids every time we're down here."

This seems to good too be true for Chase and his dad. A look at Chase's shirt shows he's also a big fan -- but it was about to get even better. Batman made his way over the windowsill -- giving Chase a close view as the two peered at each other through the window.

"Getting over the wall was a little difficult," the man posing as Batman laughed. "I don't know how Batman does it."

"For the rest of my life I'll remember it, and he's got it on video," Chase's dad said. "He'll be watching that video all day today."

Mission accomplished.

"Bye Batman!" Chase said.
