Mathiang expected to be out 6-8 weeks after successful surgery on broken foot
University of Louisville junior forward Mangok Mathiang had successful surgery Sunday to insert a screw the broken bone in his foot.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- University of Louisville junior forward Mangok Mathiang had successful surgery to insert a screw into the broken bone in his foot, U of L announced Sunday.
Mathiang suffered the injury in the second half of the Cardinals' win Saturday over Western Kentucky at the KFC Yum! Center.
He broke the fifth metatarsal in his left foot and is expected to be out 6-8 weeks.
Mathiang averaged 7.1 points and 5.7 rebounds in ten games this season.
