Man shot and killed in Breckinridge County, Ky.
A second man is wounded in incident; officers were called to former gas station about 2 p.m. local time Thursday.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man dies after a shooting at a former gas station in Garfield, Kentucky.
The Breckinridge County coroner's office says the victim is 34-year-old Johnny Ray Thompson of Irvington, Ky.
He had been shot several times.
The shooting took place about 2 p.m. local time Thursday.
Breckinridge County's chief deputy sheriff told WDRB News Thompson and a second man were involved in an altercation about a woman. That second man shot and killed Thompson, then shot and wounded himself. He was taken to University of Louisville hospital for treatment.
The incident brought a brief lockdown of Breckinridge County schools this afternoon, superintendent Janet Meeks said.
