LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A special Santa experience for children with autism.
Before Oxmoor Center opened Saturday morning for shoppers, Santa set aside some time to meet with kids who need a less noisy environment.
"They lowered the lights. There's no music on. And we try to take as much time as we can with each of the children," Santa said.
Families for Effective Autism Treatment, known as FEAT of Louisville, developed the idea.
A professional photographer took pictures, and for some, it was their first time visiting Santa.
"My youngest has never gotten his picture with Santa on his lap, but the fact that I have all three of my boys with Santa, that's the best Christmas present a mom can have," one mother said.
FEAT was founded in Louisville back in 1999.
The organization says autism affects 1 in 68 children.
