LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Authorities have identified a woman who died in a crash involving a dump truck and pickup truck in far eastern Jefferson County on Wednesday.
That woman has been identified as 58-year-old Sharon Curtsinger.
It happened about 10 a.m. Wednesday on Taylorsville Road (Kentucky 155) at South Pope Lick Road.
According to LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell, the preliminary investigation reveals that the dump truck was eastbound on Taylorsville Road and failed to observe a vehicle that was also eastbound on Taylorsville Road that was attempting to make a right turn onto South Pope Lick Road.
That's when Mitchell says the dump truck swerved to the left, into the westbound lanes, to avoid striking the vehicle in front of it and and collided with a pickup truck that was westbound on Taylorsville Road.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office says Curtsinger was pronounced dead at the scene. She died of multiple blunt force injuries.
The LMPD Traffic Unit is investigating.
