Employee of Louisville Meijer accused of stealing more than $3,000 worth of lottery tickets
Police say he would cash in the winning lottery tickets, and keep the money for his own use.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man who worked at a Louisville Meijer was arrested Wednesday after police say he stole more than $3,000 worth of lottery tickets from his employer.
According to an arrest warrant, 30-year-old Marquis Manley worked at the Meijer at 9901 Dixie Highway. During the period from Jan. 1 to Feb. 28, he allegedly stole $3,396 worth of lottery tickets from the store.
Police say he would cash in the winning lottery tickets, and keep the money for his own use. He would throw away the losing tickets.
Meijer captured some of the thefts on surveillance video, according to police.
A warrant was issued for Manley's arrest on March 7. He was taken into custody on Wednesday evening, on a charge of theft by unlawful taking.
Manley is currently being held in Louisville Metro Corrections.
