SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) –A Bullitt County teenager seemingly disappeared without a trace, and on this Labor Day her family members are taking matters into their own hands to try and find her.
Along railroad tracks, through wooded areas, and along the Salt River in the sweltering heat in Shepherdsville, LynnLee Taylor’s mom looks for any sign of her daughter with the help of family and friends.
“They love LynnLee. We all love her,” Tessa Taylor Monday said.
Now 17 years old, LynnLee has been missing since January.
“It's a long time to be gone,” Taylor Monday said.
Taylor Monday says from day one her family has been the only boots on the ground.
“We do not have a police force behind us, it's literally me and family members,” she said. “I feel like the police should have already said ‘hey, this kid's been missing long enough, let’s get out there and search wooded areas.’ This is a wooded community.”
Meanwhile, the missing teen's mom find's a black high heel, a purse, and other clothing along railroad tracks off Preston Highway. None of it belongs to her daughter, but she marks it with orange tape and reports it to KSP in case it might help solve another case.
“I want to stumble upon something. I want something to give me a clue to where LynnLee is, but I also at the same time am scared to death of what that might entail,” Taylor Monday said.
Through the fear of the unknown, there are a couple things that keep her spirits lifted.
“Hope. I have hope and I have a really good, strong family behind me. We all have our moments and we all break down,” she said.
But now there's a $10,000 reward being offered for information that leads to LynnLee's safe return and she hopes that will encourage people to come forward.
“I do want to say no information is too small,” she said.
The Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office is investigating this case, but has not returned our call for comment.
