Staghorn, an Atlanta-based distillery, started production at Garrard County Distilling Company. According to a news release Wednesday, the more than $250 million project can produce up to 150,000 barrels of bourbon per year. The first commercial distillery in the formerly dry county is expected to create more than 60 new jobs.
