Kentucky lawmakers have snuffed out a bill that would have raised the legal age for buying tobacco products and e-cigarettes from 18 to 21.
City officials say they want to encourage a healthier workplace and environment – and also save money.
Other new laws include tougher penalties on stores for selling smoking or vaping products to anyone younger than 21 years, and a requirement that anyone younger than 18 obtain a judge’s permission before getting married.
