LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A west Louisville neighborhood celebrated its pride and heritage Saturday with several activities.
The ninth annual Beecher Terrace Day at Baxter Square returned this weekend on South 12th Street.
It featured live music, local vendors, family activities and a community parade.
Beecher Terrace has been part of the Louisville community for 146 years. There was also a ceremony honoring Mitzi Wilson, a former resident and Beecher Terrace Days organizer.
"I love to bring people together," Wilson said. "There is so much going on in the world. I like to bring everybody together at least one day, two days, three days. There is nothing going on, nothing negative so we love to do positive things."
The activities continue Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m.
