LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Superstars from Derby City Wrestling and WDRB's own Gilbert Corsey partnered with the Louisville Free Public Library for "Reading and Wristlocks" on Friday.
The event promoted children's literacy.
Pro wrestlers read to kids, took pictures with them and signed autographs at the Southwest Regional Library on Dixie Highway in Valley Station.
Some kids competed against the pro wrestlers in thumb wrestling, then the pros squared off with each other in the ring.
"We are teaming up to get some free professional wrestling and promote reading," Zicky Dice, professional wrestler said. "Reading's outlandish. It's awesome. I love to read."
Derby City Wrestling is a weekly pro wrestling TV series airing Saturdays at noon on WDRB's sister station MY58.
