New Albany's Christmas in the Park serves people in need in southern Indiana

The Anchor Club of New Albany sponsored the 5th Christmas in the Park at Bicknell Park in southern Indiana.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Christmas party was held in New Albany, Indiana on Sunday afternoon.

The Anchor Club of New Albany sponsored the 5th Christmas in the Park at Bicknell Park in southern Indiana. There was a Christmas dinner, Santa Claus passed out presents, along with hygiene products and snack bags.

The event helps to serve people in need during the holidays.

"We have all kinds of people waiting to be served," Cindy Walston said. "Everything we have, all the Santa gifts, were donated."

People in the houseless community were given sleeping bags, socks, underwear and toilet paper. We the People of New Albany serves around 80 to 125 houseless people every Sunday.
