LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- People in Louisville are encouraged to bicycle to work on Monday.

It was originally scheduled for last week, but bad weather caused it to be postponed to Monday.

There will be group rides from Iroquois, Shawnee, George Rogers Clark and Seneca parks. Bicyclists will leave around 7:30 a.m. and meet at Fourth Street Live! for an address by Mayor Craig Greenberg at 8:30 a.m. There will also be a pre-work meet with coffee, donuts and raffle items from local bike shops.

"Cycling to work isn't just about choosing to live a healthy lifestyle," said Nira Kinkhabwala, owner of Middle of Town Cycling. "It's the impact we can have on our environment by eliminating the number of cars on the road. It's also about making commuting in general more accessible and feasible for people from all walks of life. I think of it as a baby step towards cyclists enjoying more bike to work days and will push our city leaders to improve cycling infrastructure in our community."

Return rides will leave 4th Street Live! at 5:30 p.m. in the evening.

Cyclists of all levels are encouraged to take part in the group rides.
