On Tuesday Metro council's planning and zoning committee voted to remove a city review process that applied only to Portland.
The program is meant to focus on more than a thousand vacant and abandoned properties mainly concentrated in west Louisville.
Louisville Fire reports nearly half of all severe fires in the last three years have been at abandoned homes.
