House Bill 475 marries urban Democrats’ desire for more tax flexibility for Louisville and Lexington with Republicans’ desire to cut down on city and county taxes on workers’ wages, but Democrats withheld their support on Friday.
The Kentucky Senate and House of Representatives will not convene Friday or Monday, as originally scheduled.
Lawmakers will recess after finishing work at the capitol Thursday and will return to work March 26 to vote on the state's budget and other matters.
