LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The man charged with Louisville's first murder of the year was in court Wednesday.

Justen Tandy, 19,Ā is charged with robbery and murder in the death of BrianĀ Przybylek. Police sayĀ Przybylek was killed on Jan. 5 when he showed up for a drug transaction.

According to a police report, Tandy and a friend allegedly called BrianĀ Przybylek, saying they wanted to buy some drugs when they really intended to rob him.

When PrzybylekĀ showed up at the Guardian Court Apartments, near Preston Highway, police say he fought with Tandy and the other man. During the struggle Przybylek was shot one time.

Offices found PrzybylekĀ in the hallway of the apartments. He was pronounced dead shortly after help arrived.

Tandy pleaded not guilty and is being held on $1 million bond.

A memorial fund has been set up at Fifth Third Bank to assist with funeral expensesĀ for Przybylek.
