LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville homicide detectives are searching for suspects after a 21-year-old man died at the hospital after he was shot at a nightclub in the Chickasaw neighborhood Tuesday night.
Michael Lamont Bass II, died less than hour after the shooting that happened just before midnight Tuesday at a nightclub at 1120 S. 36th Street, according to a written statement from the Jefferson County coroner's office that identified the business as the No Haterz club.
LMPD spokesperson Matthew Sanders said in a news release that 2nd Division officers were responding to a report of a shooting at that location when they were told the victim was being taken by private means to UofL Health Hospital.
The victim arrived with a gunshot wound to the chest and was immediately rushed into surgery, but was pronounced dead just before 1 a.m., according to the coroner's statement.
Homicide detectives are investigating, and believe there were multiple witnesses.
