LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Three people were hospitalized after a fire Tuesday morning in the Jacobs neighborhood.
Louisville Fire Capt. Donovan Sims said the fire happened around 4:30 a.m. on Kahlert Avenue, near Interstate 264 and Taylor Boulevard.
Sims said the family woke up to a fire in the basement. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control in about 10 minutes.
Eight people inside the home evacuated before crews arrived at the scene.
Three people sustained non-life-threatening injuries while evacuating and were taken to the hospital, according to Sims.
The Louisville Metro Arson Bureau is investigating.
