LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One of baseball's all-time greats was honored with the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory's Living Legend Award on Friday.
Rickey Henderson played in the majors from 1979 to 2003 and is a three-time World Series Champion. Throughout his career, Henderson got 1,782 bats from Louisville Slugger.
"They made some outstanding bats for me over the years," Henderson said. "I had a few models that came in. They made some adjustments for the weight and stuff like that. It was outstanding with the bat. I stayed with the bat most of my career."
Henderson was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2009. He's major league baseball's all-time stolen bases leader and has the record for most runs scored.
The Living Legend Award goes to people whose contributions to baseball and society reach legendary status.
