LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An 80-year-old man died in a fire in Waddy, Kentucky, Friday afternoon.Â
One other person was taken to the hospital.Â
It happened around 12:45 p.m. in the 600 block of McFarland Lane, according to Shelby County coroner Jeff Ivers.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, they searched the home and found one man inside, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Shelby County coroner Jeff Ivers has identified the victim as Harvey Keeling. Â
Ivers said a family member who went back inside the burning home to try to save Keeling was injured in the fire and taken to Frankfort Regional Hospital with injuries that aren't considered life-threatening.Â
Ivers said autopsy results indicate Keeling died from smoke inhalation.Â
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, but Shelby County Fire Chief James Riddle said in a written statement that "the house was built on to several times over the years."
