LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- People across Louisville joined in on a special pool party Sunday focused on peace.
Councilwoman Tammy Hawkins, who represents District 1, and the ACE Project hosted the party at the Algonquin Park Pool on Cypress Street.
Hawkins said the event is meant to be a celebration of unity, healing, and community — aiming to transform the park into a safe place of peace.
Several anti-violence groups had resources available at the party.
This comes after shootings occurred in the park last month.
"We have a lot of people who are not working together, who are not being peaceful — whether it is the youth or everybody," said Rose Smith with the ACE Project. "We just want to spread love and peace, and our peace is people everywhere just acting compassionately every day."
