LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville police are conducting a death investigation after a body was recovered from the Ohio River on Friday afternoon.
Louisville Metro Police spokesperson John Bradley said a tug boat operator reported seeing a body around 4:30 p.m. just north of the Belle of Louisville.Â
LMPD's River Unit responded and recovered the body — unknown gender, race or age as of now, police said — from the river. Police said the person was "obviously deceased."
Bradley said LMPD's Homicide Unit is now conducting a death investigation.
