LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Louisville craft brewery Against the Grain is getting closer to offering public tours with tastings and beer sales at its new production facility in Portland.
The brewery will soon apply for a number of alcohol licenses for its converted warehouse at 1800 Northwestern Parkway, according to
a legal ad that ran Friday in The Courier-Journal.
Adam Watson, one of Against the Grain's four co-owners, said the eventual goal is to open “a full taproom and tavern” on the second floor of the facility, but the brewery wants to be able to offer tastings and beer sales to people on tours beginning this summer.
“We are starting with just enough to keep people wet when they are going on the tour,” he said.
That means sales of canned or bottled beer and growler fill-ups in addition to pints and beer samples at a small bar set up on the first floor, Watson said.
Against the Grain began at Louisville Slugger Field and bought the Portland warehouse last year to ramp up production after a huge increase in demand.
