LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A locally owned Louisville running store is relocating after nearly 40 years in the same plaza.

According to our partners at Louisville Business First, Swags, formerly known as Swag's Sports Shoes, is relocating from its longtime Auburndale Plaza to the Beechmont neighborhood. The store has been in that shopping center since 1985.

The new store, which will officially open to the public Aug. 3, is located at 323 W. Woodlawn Ave. — the former Cocoberry Pops space.

The company said the relocation was in the works for years, LBF reported. Sisters and owners Allie and Layney Vincent said the new location will help them better connect with runners and walkers who frequent the area.

"This location places us at the heart of the Beechmont neighborhood," Allie Vincent said in a release. "We eagerly anticipate serving as a water station for individuals engaged in walking or running, while simultaneously functioning as a community hub. This location embodies the heritage-forward mindset, emphasizing our commitment to serving and supporting our community."

Swags sells running shoes, apparel and accessories. Erin "Swag" Hartel founded the running store in 1980.

The Vincent sisters were full-time employees at Swags from 2018 to 2024 before becoming co-owners.

Swags has three locations across Louisville and the southern Indiana area, including a store in Jeffersonville that opened in April. Its other Louisville location is on Westport Road.
