LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A popular Smoketown brewery is giving customers a new reason to stay awhile.

Trellis Brewing is launching an in-house kitchen, "Trellis Foods," bringing a full food menu to its Logan Street taproom starting Friday, April 10.

Chef James Andrews — formerly of Red Hog Restaurant & Butcher Shop — is leading the kitchen, serving up a mix of elevated bar food and comfort favorites. This includes beer cheese with pretzel chips, loaded fries, steak frites and a signature Trellis Burger.

Hot dogs stand out on the menu, with creative options like a Seattle-style dog with cream cheese and a Kentucky-inspired version topped with chili and slaw. Brunch on weekends adds even more twists, including a sweet-and-savory Monte Cristo-style dog.

"Our goal wasn’t to open a restaurant inside a brewery," owner Kyle Jahn said. "Everything on the menu is designed to work with the beer, not distract from it."

Trellis Foods will be open evenings during the week and all day on weekends, including brunch.
