LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man is dead and a woman is facing charges after a crash in Louisville's Algonquin neighborhood Monday evening.

Police were called to the reported crash near the intersection of West Lee Street and McCloskey Avenue around 7:40 p.m., Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Aaron Ellis said in a statement.

Investigators with LMPD's Traffic Unit believe a woman driving a pickup truck ran a stop sign at the intersection "for some unknown reason," colliding with a Mustang that was entering the road, Ellis said.

The impact of the two vehicles caused the Mustang to lose control, hitting an unoccupied vehicle that was parked nearby. The driver of the Mustang, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ellis said information about pending charges related to the crash would be released, but did not specify when.
