LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB/WAVE) — One year after a Louisville man was found shot to death in his wrecked car on Interstate 71, his family said they're still waiting for answers.
Police found the 50-year-old Craig Wills' car around 2 a.m. July 6, 2025, along I-71 near Lime Kiln Lane. He had been shot and died at the scene.
 His father, Lewis Wills, said his son had attended a wedding earlier that night and planned to meet up with friends afterward. A year later, the family still doesn't know what happened.
"A lot of people out here know what happened," Lewis Wills said. "They just got their mouth shut. They’re not talking."
He said he checks in with the Louisville Metro Police detective assigned to the case every few weeks, hoping investigators have learned something new. So far, there have been few updates.
"I would shed tears a lot of times," Lewis Wills said. "I’d be sitting here watching TV. I’d, all of a sudden, just start crying. Because that was my son. I loved him. It’s kind of hard just being here and then he’s not pulling up. I miss him, hollering daddy."
"We're supposed to grow old together," Glover said. "Instead of passing so violently. So, it's hard."
The family hopes speaking out again will encourage someone with information to come forward.
"We can't have justice around here unless the people help," Lewis Wills said. "...If you know something... tell it. Let's get this thing solved."
LMPD said the investigation remains open and ongoing, and there are no new details to release.
