LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man was shot and killed Friday morning at a liquor store near downtown Shepherdsville.

The Shepherdsville Police Department said officers responded to 261 N. Buckman St. on the report of a shooting. According to the arrest citation, Thomas Coy Jr., of Clarkson, was sitting in his car in the parking lot of City Liquors around 7:20 a.m. Friday.

Police said the victim pulled up next to Coy's car, and Coy "intentionally fired multiple shots with a Glock handgun, striking the victims multiple times."

A man was taken to UofL Hospital, where he later died. 

Coy admitted his involvement to police and was arrested just before 10:30 a.m. He's been initially charged with murder and wanton endangerment and is currently being held in the Bullitt County Detention Center.
