LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they've arrested a man days after he shot at a 15-year-old girl, hitting her in the ear.
According to an arrest warrant, the incident occurred on Thursday, Dec. 15. Police say the victim told them that she had been "play-arguing" with the suspect, 20-year-old Trea Sims, when Sims pulled a handgun and fired a shot at her.
Police say the bullet hit the 15-year-old in the left ear and grazed the back of her neck.
The girl's mother took her to Norton Children's Hospital and the victim was able to identify Sims as the shooter, according to police.
Sims was arrested Wednesday, just after 7 a.m., at the corner of S. Hurstbourne Parkway and Taylorsville Road. He's charged with first degree assault, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and carrying a concealed deadly weapon without a permit. He is currently being held at Louisville Metro Corrections.
