LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police arrested a man after his 8-year-old son tested positive for cocaine.

According to court documents, Donnie Smith, 35, took the 8-year-old to a suspected drug deal. After that, police said Smith told his son to take the drugs.

An arrest report says the boy started walking into walls and wouldn't talk. He was taken to Norton Children's Hospital and was treated for a drug overdose.

Smith is charged with wanton endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child.
