LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Meade County man was arrested Thursday after police said he shot and killed a woman.
According to court documents, 37-year-old Derick Ford shot and killed Crystal Fetch.
Shortly before 7 a.m., Meade County Dispatch received a call regarding a shooting from the 7100 block of Battletown Road in Battletown, Kentucky. The caller told dispatch, "Dad's gun went off, mother has been shot."
Deputies arrived on scene and found a woman in the master bedroom with a single gunshot wound to the left eye.
Police said Ford got into an argument with Fetch and then shot her with an AR-15 rifle.
Ford has been charged with murder and was booked in the Meade County Detention Center. His cash bond was set at $250,000 and he's scheduled for arraignment on Feb. 7.
