LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — With the school year coming to a close, Jefferson County Public Schools released its graduation schedule Monday.
The district said more than 7,100 students will receive diplomas this school year, with 6,880 of them graduating in May.
Additionally, the district said 75% of graduates are postsecondary or career ready. More than $87 million in scholarships have been earned by JCPS graduates and about 2,000 industry certificates earned.
Thirty-four JCPS schools are holding graduation ceremonies this year, including the first-ever graduating class of all boys at W.E.B. DuBois Academy.
"This is a big class of seniors, and we're expecting big things out of every one of them," Dr. Marty Pollio, JCPS superintendent, said in a news release.
