LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- With the start of school right around the corner, a local organization wanted to help children be prepared for class.

Wesley House Community Services held its annual back-to-school bash. 300 backpacks that were filled with folders, papers, pencils and markers were given out.

Teachers provided the supply lists of what items are most needed this year. There was also games and activities, along with community resources.

"It just means so much to us that we can provide this little bit of support," said Mendell Grinter, president of Wesley House. "We know it doesn't cover everything but every little bit helps and we are just trying to do our part."

There was also a barber on-site giving free haircuts to the boys.
