LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) --Ā Last minute shoppers had an extra perk if they were picking up gifts at Mall St. Matthews on Saturday.

Local Girl Scout troops were wrapping presents for customers at the mall.

In return, the girls were collecting donations to benefit the Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana. Some of the money will go to troop supplies and activities. One of the troops is even saving up for a trip to Europe.

Girl Scout volunteers said the crowd was steady and spirits were high at the mall this morning.

"So far it really seems pretty peaceful," saysĀ volunteer Diane Cormier.Ā "I expected a big hubbub, but I think everybody's really happy it's kind of winding down and we can get ready to celebrate the real reason we're here for Christmas."

If you missed the gift wrapping on Saturday, there's still another chance.

The Girl Scouts will be wrapping presents all dayĀ Sunday and Monday at Mall St. Matthews.
