FRANKFORT, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Governor is expected to sign a bill banning the sale of e-cigarettes to minors tomorrow.Â
Senate Bill 109 cleared the Kentucky Senate by a 36-2 vote in early March.
The bill, sponsored by Sen. Paul Hornback (R-Shelbyville), would prohibit the sale of e-cigarettes and vaporized nicotine to minors, placing them under the same rules and regulations as tobacco products.
Retailers would face the same fines and penalties for selling e-cigs to anyone under the age of 18 as they would for selling tobacco products to minors.
E-cigarettes have a battery, electric circuit or other component that allows them to produce vaporized or aerosol nicotine.
The Governor's press office says the bill signing will take place Monday in the Capitol.Â
