LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) --Friday's tornado has forced closure of Henryville's elementary and junior/senior high schools through March 9.  But plans after that date were still uncertain Sunday night after a meeting of West Clark Community Schools administrators and school board members.

Superintendent Monty Schneider told WDRB News a decision on future plans must wait until mid-week at the earliest, until he and other officials learn more about insurance, salvage, busing, available space at other schools and other issues.

School in Henryville is canceled this week.

Those options could include installing portable classrooms, or other different structures.

The assistant superintendent of West Clark Community Schools says the rest of the schools in the district will stay open this week -- including Borden and Silver Creek.

For now, all Henryville residents are under a curfew from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

U.S. 31 is closed to all but emergency vehicles through the center of town.

Several donation sites are available for Henryville victims: the I-65 South rest area at mile marker 23, north of Henryville and the Census Bureau at 700 Patrol Rd. in Jeffersonville.

For those wishing to volunteer, you can go to the former Bales Used Car Lot at 723 Spring St. in Jeffersonville on Monday.

Officials wish to remind those using portable generators not to take those inside due to carbon monoxide.
