LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It's a two-year-old case of a murdered police officer and investigators hope yearly events will help solve the crime.
More than 150 bikers gathered in Bardstown Saturday morning for the Jason Ellis Poker Run.
The 33-year-old police officer was shot and killed on an exit ramp two years ago on the Bluegrass Parkway.
He was on his way home when he stopped to remove debris from on the ramp. Saturday's poker run helps raise money for Ellis's family.
Investigators are still looking for leads in his murder and hope events like this will help solve it.
"We have a two and a half year old case that is unsolved of a murder of a police officer and we need to get moving on it and get it solved," Ramon Pineiro, with the Nelson County Sheriff's Office, said.Â
Police are asking anyone with tips or information about Ellis's murder to call them in.
There is a $185,000 reward being offered.
