FRANKFORT, Ky. (WDRB)- Jonathan Shell was officially sworn in as Kentucky's next Commissioner of Agriculture.
His swearing in ceremony was held on New Year's Day in Lancaster at the Garrard County Courthouse. He was surrounded by family and friends.
Before taking the oath of office, Shell told the crowd "Food, faith and family... these three words sum up Kentucky agriculture." He says he's ready to fight for farm values and Kentucky values.
Shell is a 5th generation farmer and now the 36th Commissioner of Agriculture.
His public swearing in ceremony will be held on January 2nd at the State Capitol in Frankfort.
